WELCOME FROM THE PRESIDENT

GPCAPT Geoff Robinson NSC AMMA PRESIDENT

The 2020 AMMA conference is going virtual. The theme of the 2020 AMMA Conference has never been more relevant than in our world today. Who would have thought 12 months ago, when the theme was conceived that the world would be living through a global pandemic that has seen us change so dramatically, potentially forever.

We’ve discovered new ways of working, closed down cities, implemented new initiatives that previously would have taken years to see the light of day, have been developed and implemented within weeks.

The entire community has responded quickly to flattening the curve, and as a result Australia and New Zealand have reduced the human loss, but as a result our economies will take time to recovery.

Join us from your nearest screen from 25-27 November as we learn, grow and lead the way into preparing for the next mission, or as we unpack the learning from COVID-19.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the AMMA Council is adopting a wait and see approach until July 2020 to make a final decision on whether the annual AMMA Conference will go ahead as planned.

The Conference theme for 2020, Before the Next Mission | Preparing for Conflict and Disaster has never been more appropriate, and we are very excited to take a deeper look into the experiences of the AMMA members and community of health professionals.

To give AMMA members every opportunity to gather and meet at the annual conference, a decision has been made to move the conference dates to later in 2020.

The new dates are: 25-28 November 2020.

The call for abstracts is currently open, and we encourage you to make a submission to the program. We are extending the deadline to 1 July 2020.

Click here to submit your abstract.

We hope that we will be able to meet and catch up in November 2020.
